Hotel with private spa in the Montafon: the AMRAI suite concept

The private spa facilities increase in scope with the category. The range starts with 38-square-metre studios, whose optional infrared cabin provides deep heat for two without the need for a separate wet area. Junior Suites, measuring 35 square metres, take the experience out onto the terrace, with a choice of a private sauna, whirlpool or a combination of both, each offering views of the Montafon mountains. Sauna Suites, ranging from 58 to 96 square metres, combine a private deluxe sauna with a fireplace for the hours that follow. Spa Suites, at 70 square metres, offer the full range of amenities, including a deluxe sauna, an onsen bath, a steam and rain shower, a freestanding bath and a lounge with a waterbed. Finally, Pool Suites feature an outdoor pool heated all year round, opening onto the terrace and accommodating up to six people. This tiered system allows guests to tailor their private spa experience to their budget, rather than treating it as an ‘all or nothing’ proposition. The architecture of the building demonstrates how the materials used in each category blend into the overall design. When booking two rooms in smaller categories, it’s worth taking a look at the optional extras, as an infrared cabin or terrace sauna can be specifically selected at the time of booking, rather than being left to the chance of room allocation.

The private spa only comes into its own when combined with the communal areas of the hotel. During the day, the Maisäß Spa on the roof and the Stólla Spa in the basement provide the communal facilities, with the Gipflsee, copper bath and saunas open from 10 am to 8 pm. After that, the private facilities take over when the communal pools close and the evening is not yet over, with a sauna session at 10 pm or a swim in the private pool under the night sky. The private level also has its moments during the day, for example when the weather changesand nobody wants to swap their bathrobe for street clothes, or when going nude in public saunas is out of the question. Treatments such as massages are reserved for the spa area and are booked via the spa reception, ensuring that both levels complement each other to create a complete day of wellness.
