A Culinary Delight from Ahna
AMRAI's World of Delights for Every Taste
At AMRAI’s kitchen, Montafon tradition meets modern culinary delight. Inspired by the original recipes of her Ahna (grandmother), the guardian of the family kitchen, the authentic flavors of the region find their way onto your plate. Every bite tells a story of craftsmanship, carefully selected ingredients, and the charm of the Montafon.
And to ensure there’s something for every taste, AMRAI offers a whole world of culinary delights: the various Stobas with their gourmet board and afternoon snacks, the à la carte restaurant KUPFR GRILL with fire, heart, and spice, the AMRAI Bar for drinks that warm your hands and soul, and their “sheep’s hat” breakfast, which tastes of mountain freshness and vacation.
Let yourself be pampered by AMRAI’s culinary history and savor your way through their homeland.
In AMRAI's kitchen, you'll find ...
Regional Focus
Just as deeply as AMRAI loves the Montafon, she enjoys regional delicacies. AMRAI’s kitchen team therefore prefers to source ingredients locally, sometimes from suppliers in the region whom they know personally. To offer even more regional products, AMRAI has partnered with “bewusstmontafon.” This ensures that production takes place in the Montafon and that local ingredients are used.
Tradition
At AMRAI, tradition thrives wherever cooking takes place. The foundation is made up of recipes from AMRAI’s Ahna’s (grandmother’s) cookbook, which have been passed down through generations. They tell the story of Austrian culinary art, craftsmanship, and authentic flavors. At the same time, these recipes are allowed to evolve—they are refined, reimagined, and carefully adapted to the present day. This keeps tradition alive, and the food tastes just as good today as it did back then.
Community
AMRAI has plenty of space for everyone who wants to enjoy time together. Families, friends, or colleagues can comfortably gather, share, and relax. Solo travelers can keep to themselves or actively seek out connections and company, for example at culinary events or small activities held on-site. Community forms here in a completely relaxed way—at the table, during conversations, and wherever shared enjoyment brings people together.
Breakfast
The coffee’s ready! Its aroma wafts seductively through the sheep’s quarters. And you’re still in bed? Come on! You sleepyhead! Now get out of bed and head over to the Montafon “Sheep’s Cap” Breakfast between 7:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
It smells of mountain herbs, honey, and fresh milk from the farm. The jam is homemade, and AMRAI’s muesli is also lovingly mixed in-house. All the ingredients for AMRAI’s “Schafmützen” breakfast—such as sausage, cheese specialties, and eggs—come from the region. One highlight is the nut grinder: here you can grind nuts fresh and then taste a delicious nut cream. To quench your morning thirst, there are freshly squeezed juices as well as coffee and specialty teas.
AMRAI’s insider tip: For an additional fee, you can even enjoy the Montafon “Schafmütze” breakfast in your own “Schafgemach” (sheep’s den). Isn’t that a great way to start the day? The early bird catches the worm. The late one gets a sheep’s hat.
Jause
At lunchtime, AMRAI’s cuisine is wonderfully uncomplicated and just as varied as the day itself. Choose from fine à la carte dishes—freshly prepared, hot or cold, savory or sweet—as well as the afternoon snack, which is curated anew every day and included in the 3/4 board plan.
The best part: time doesn’t matter. Whether you want to warm up quickly before your next adventure, recharge after a long spa visit, or slowly ease back into relaxation mode after a day of skiing. Between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., take a seat whenever it suits you and help yourself to whatever you’re in the mood for.
Enjoy your meal in AMRAI’s cozy Stobas or outside, if the sun wants to join you at the table. Your lunch break becomes a relaxing interlude in your vacation day. No obligations, no schedule—just pure enjoyment. Just right for heading out again afterward or simply staying a little longer.
Dinner
AMRAI’s kitchen team creates culinary delights using fresh, regional ingredients from the Montafon Valley. The recipes are based on traditional Montafon cuisine from AMRAI’s Ahna (Grandma) and are innovatively refined or reinterpreted. You’ll find them on the daily-changing evening menu, from which you can usually choose 4–5 courses included in your half-board or three-quarters-board plan.
You can enjoy these delicacies from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the cozy atmosphere of AMRAI’s Stobas. Whether it’s the copper lighting, local spruce wood, walls in dusty pink and green velvet, two-person seating that invites you to share a cozy meal, or a pink alcove where four people can feast and chat.
Although there’s no pink panther, AMRAI’s fantastic terrace overlooking the Litzdamm offers a cozy spot in the summer with a magnificent view. It feels like you’re on a sun deck, except that instead of the Atlantic Ocean crashing below you, the Litz River ripples gently by.
Dinner at KUPFR GRILL
The air is filled with the delicate aroma of grilled meat; the select tables are already elegantly set, and things are already heating up on the copper grill beneath the black wave-patterned canopy.
At KUPFR GRILL, you can watch AMRAI’s grill master in a stylish setting as he skillfully tames the flames, prepares the marinades, and sizzles the fillets with great finesse. Enjoy exquisite dishes, fine wines, & cocktails, and feel free to ask the master about his tricks. He’s sure to reveal a few surprising “cooking secrets” to you—maybe even lift a pot lid or two. Sit back, let yourself be pampered, and immerse yourself in the unique design world of AMRAI’s KUPFR GRILL. You’ll be all fired up!
The KUPFR GRILL is open from 6:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.; it is closed on Thursdays only. Since it’s a popular destination, AMRAI recommends making reservations well in advance.
