The traditional Maisäß are deeply rooted in the Montafon cultural landscape. They remain a fundamental part of the Montafon annual cycle and serve as a transitional stop between the valley and the alpine pastures. Even back in AMRAI’s childhood, a stay at the Maisäß was a magical time in the foothills of the Alps, where people would stay in the spring until the high alpine pastures were free of snow. A long-awaited break—short, but intense.
AMRAI wants to share this refreshing getaway with you. Enjoy it high above the village rooftops in the rooftop infinity pool, two saunas, a steam room, a rooftop garden with a unique view, a nourishing snack and tea bar, sensory showers, a fireplace lounge, and various relaxation areas.

Gipfl-Stoba 90°
Now it’s time for some peak-level fun! At Gipfl-Stoba, AMRAI might put you in a headlock—because things get hot in the Finnish 90° sauna—but in return, you’ll be rewarded with a heavenly view of the Montafon mountain peaks, each one more majestic than the last. The perfect finishing touch!
Krüter-Stoba 60°
AMRAI’s Krüter-Stoba with its 60° organic sauna offers a completely different experience. Here, you won’t find hot coals in the fire—instead, you’ll find herbs in the cauldron and hanging from the ceiling. The bundles of herbs hanging here were hand-picked, tied, and hung up. They give off an intense and alluring scent of Montafon mountain flower meadows, while little clouds of steam waft through the Krüter-Stoba. Take a deep breath in and out.
Montafon Waterfall
Just like in the mountains, flowing along stone walls. These water features are sometimes turbulent, sometimes gentle, and at times feel like a powerful massage, depending on how you adjust the XXXL showerhead of this sensory shower. Just step underneath and enjoy the water jet.
Gipflsee Infinity Pool
Want even more water? Look at how the sun’s rays break through the wooden slats of the Maisäß-Barga in concentrated beams. At AMRAI’s Gipfelsee, you’ve reached the highest point, where you can gaze out over the breathtaking mountain scenery and feel boundless freedom.
Maisäß Rooftop Terrace
AMRAI’s rooftop terrace is not just any rooftop garden—it’s a sublime experience at the highest level. High above Schruns, where the sky is close enough to touch, a garden unfolds that towers above everything else: a 360-degree mountain panorama stretching as far as the eye can see, combined with the quiet magic of the mountains and sweeping views. All around, nothing but peaks, peaks, peaks.
Bienaschtock Relaxation Area
On the alpine meadows surrounding AMRAI’s Bienaschtock, countless little bees buzz and hum busily back and forth. Inside the honeycombs, however, silence and tranquility reign. In this relaxation area, you can unwind on floating loungers until you’re as supple as thick, flowing honey.
Heubóda Rest Area
So what’s next? It’s going to be absolutely wonderful. A bed in a hayfield! An enchanting scent all around! Just the place to lie down! That’s exactly the plan. Lie down in one of the many lounging nooks with hay walls in AMRAI’s Heubóda and feel like you’re in a hay bed. Unwind, doze off, relax, read, dream, write poetry, count sheep.
Maisäß-Stoba Rest Area
Maybe you’ll get back on your feet someday and then stroll right into the warm living room—but please take it easy. At AMRAI’s Maisäß-Stoba, you can snuggle up by the stove like a kitten, comfortably on cozy loungers arranged along the wall and around the tiled stove. Relax to the max.

Fancy a little snack? At AMRAI’s Wald- & Wiesen Bar, you’ll find—surprise!—the fruits of the forest and the meadows. Nuts, berries, seeds, herbs—AMRAI has gathered all of these for you, just like Little Red Riding Hood with her basket. Not a trace of the big bad wolf anywhere in sight. So now you can relax a little.
Diesigs Bänkle Steam Bath
Unwind in AMRAI’s Diesige Bänkle. The first rays of sunlight pierce the morning mist; dewdrops hang like delicate pearls in the grass. Or are they the stars shining in the sky?
