A late breakfast kicks things off, after which how you feel that day determines whether you opt for a guided BergePLUS tour through the Montafon, a few runs at Kupfrbad, or a direct ascent to the Maisäß Spa, where the ‘adults only’ policy (18 and over) keeps the day pleasantly quiet. In the afternoon, many couples book their treatments back-to-back – two loungers, one time slot – followed by some quiet time together under woollen throws. Towards evening, you stroll from your bathrobe straight into the lounge, where the three-quarter board dinner is served from 6.30 pm, and later head to the bar or back up to the roof terrace. Anyone who needs some time to themselves in between can find it in the relaxation room or working out in the gym, without the other person having to wait. After 8 pm, when the hotel pools close, the quietest part of the day begins. The Grüne Stoba serves dinner in an adults-only dining room, accompanied by wines that complement the regional cuisine; alternatively, the KUPFR GRILL bar-becuas until 8.45 pm over an open fire, except on Thursdays. Afterwards, the bar keeps the evening going until 11.30 pm, and guests staying in a suite with a private sauna, hot tub or fireplace can round off the evening there without a care in the world. In winter, this includes the moment when steam rises above the heated Gipflsee and the lights of Schruns lie beneath the roof terrace; in summer, it’s that last sip outside in the evening air. After closing time, the hotel provides drinks to take back to your room. The atmosphere of these hours above the rooftops is captured by the roof terrace, whose sunbathing areas remain open until the end of spa hours. For your final evening, it’s worth booking a window seat, as the twilight over the rooftops of Schruns is one of those moments that will stay with you the longest from your stay.
