Family-friendly hotel in Vorarlberg: what the AMRAI actually offers

Relief comes from many small gestures. Those arriving on the Montafonerbahn can, on request, be collected from Schruns station, along with their luggage and child seats; those arriving by car can park free of charge in the underground car park. Before check-in at 3 pm, the Stöll Spa – open from 12 noon – and a snack from 1 pm help pass the time whilst you wait; your luggage will be stored at reception in the meantime. For days out, the kitchen prepares packed lunches on advance order, including Landjäger sausage, cheese on bread, an egg, an apple and a drink; and in the event of any dietary restrictions, reception will coordinate with the kitchen in advance. The Stobas’ family-run evening cuisine reinterprets classics from Grandma’s cookbook, which, in our experience, makes the dishes more popular with the little ones; you can get an impression of this from the culinary offerings of the hotel, featuring all three restaurant areas. At the same time, reception is staffed daily from 7.30 am to 11 pm and is on hand to answer families’ queries – from equipment hire to directions to the nearest chemist – without any fuss.

At the AMRAI, family-friendliness doesn’t stop with the children. The Maisäß Spa on the roof is reserved for guests aged 18 and over and, with its Gipflsee, saunas and roof terrace, offers an area where parents can take a breather, either in turns or together, whilst the little ones are being looked after, splashing about or having their afternoon nap. At dinner, the Grüne Stoba, as the adults’ area, complements the family dining rooms, so that an evening for two doesn’t require a change of venue. Many suites take this concept a step further into the private sphere, with their own sauna, whirlpool or infrared cabin behind the room door, available after the children have been put to bed and without having to worry about opening hours. On request, the spa reception will book massages and treatments during time slots when your partner is out with the children on the BergePLUS programme.
