Many family accommodation options at the AMRAI combine the independence of a holiday flat with the service of a hotel. A kitchenette with a dining area, a living room with a sofa bed and terraces with a garden allow families to set their own pace, whilst the hotel’s kitchen, housekeeping and spa take care of the rest. Warming up bottles, chilling snacks, eating early or late – all this is possible in the suite without having to forego the three-quarter board. For a family holiday in Vorarlberg, this creates a format that lies somewhere between self-catering and full board. The hotel’s room and suite selection brings together the suitable layouts.
A self-determined family holiday: a Vorarlberg suite instead of cramped rooms
The difference becomes apparent in everyday life with children. In studios and suites, the kitchenette allows you to heat up baby food and keep snacks to hand for when the little ones get peckish, whilst the dining area makes it possible to have breakfast in your pyjamas, before heading down to the restaurant. Living rooms with sofa beds create a second area where parents can stay up after putting the children to bed, by the fireplace if they wish – which is stocked with wood and kindling by reception. Family Suites extend this concept to two or more bedrooms and bathrooms, whilst the ground-level terraces with gardens provide space to move about within sight. A free travel cot completes the facilities for the little ones. Luggage, pushchairs and sledge can be stored in the luggage room if required. How this living concept ties in with the rest of the hotel is described in the Family Area from the suite to the spa. Wi-Fi is available throughout the house free of charge and without a password, which equally covers audiobook downloads for the children, photo uploads for parents and video calls to the grandparents.

Meals on a family holiday: Vorarlberg cuisine at child-friendly times
Meals are still enjoyed together and are of high quality. Breakfast runs from 7.15 am to 11 am, catering for both early risers and late sleepers, the afternoon snack from 1.00 pm satisfies hunger after the mountain activities, and the evening meal starts at 6.30 pm at the family-friendly Stobas. Anyone who needs to set off even earlier – for a sunrise hike, for example – can order a packed lunch the day before for 15 euros. The kitchen puts a new spin on classics from Grandma’s recipe book and sources ingredients from local producers in the valley; lactose- and gluten-free options are available on request. After the bar closes at 11.30 pm, we’ll bring drinks up to your room, where the kitchenette will keep them cool. This arrangement saves families from having to juggle restaurant opening times with their children’s routines. The overview of the Stobas in the hotel shows which lounge has which atmosphere and where children are welcome in the evenings. On the day of departure, the hotel makes leaving a bit easier, as after check-out at 11 am, the spa facilities remain open until 1 pm and your luggage is safely stored at reception until then.
