Holidays with children in Montafon throughout all seasons

Summer and winter holidays place completely different demands on a holiday with children, and the AMRAI in Schruns caters for both from the same base. In winter, the ski shuttle, heated ski lockers and short distances to the Silvretta Montafon take care of the logistics; in summer, the hiking shuttle, the Golm Adventure Mountain and the Litz Promenade right on the doorstep. What remains constant is the Kupfrbad with no age restrictions, the snack at 1 pm and the family lounges in the evening. So the same booking covers everything from building snowmen to swimming in the lake. Family ideas for all seasons are collected in the Aktiv & Montafon section, organised by season.

Winter with children: Snowy days between the shuttle and the Kupfrbad

Winter days with children at the AMRAI start without the hassle of lugging things around. Your equipment is stored overnight in the heated ski room, with a dedicated locker per room, and is ready and warm in the morningwarmed and ready; the free ski shuttle takes the family to the Hochjoch and Zamang mountain railways; anyone needing sledge or snowshoes can ask at reception for hire equipment. For breaks from the slopes, there’s a snack available from 1 pm; for freezing afternoons, there’s the copper bath, whose warm water and copper glow thaw out cold children in minutes. The BergePLUS programme also runs daily through the valley, with a different programme each day, featuring activities that specifically cater for families and children, such as snowshoe walks at a child-friendly pace. In the evening, everything dries in the lockers, whilst the Holz-Stoba serves dinner from 6.30 pm. The ski shuttle shows how the transfers to the cable cars are timed, with its timetable for the winter season. ÜTransitional periods in spring and autumn follow the same pattern, with afternoons spent enjoying the thermal waters at the Stólla Spa and shorter walks along the Litz when the mountains are in between seasons.

AMRAI's Variety of Rooms

Summer with children: Montafon between Golm, Litz and the garden terrace

During the warmer months, the children’s programme moves outdoors without changing the base. The Golm adventure mountain offers the classic day-out: book the hotel’s family package, complete with an adventure ticket; the hiking shuttle takes you free of charge to the starting points at Bartholomäberg and Latschau, and the flat Litz Promenade in front of the hotel takes balance bikes and pushchairs right into the centre of Schruns. Guided summer activities in the BergePLUS programme – from the stream trail to family hikes – take the hassle out of planning your route. Back at the house, the ground-level garden terrace in the family-friendly accommodation extends the afternoon, whilst the copper bath provides a refreshing cool-down if the stream was too cold. Packed lunches for full-day excursions can be ordered the day before, and families with e-bikes can charge their bikes free of charge in the underground car park. The Offers page lists which packages currently combine adventure tickets and overnight stays for the current season. Parents can still enjoy some time to themselves, because whilst the children stay at the Kupfrbad after the excursion, one adult at a time heads up to the Maisäß Spa on the roof.
