Just a few minutes’ walk from Schruns town centre, the AMRAI runs a spa spread over two levels, which is open to hotel guests and, subject to availability, to day visitors. Upstairs is the Maisöde Spa with the Gipflsee and a roof terrace; downstairs is the Stöll Spa with a copper bath and sauna area. Treatments ranging from massages to baths are organised by the spa reception, which is staffed daily from 11 am to 6 pm. This means that a fully-fledged spa is available right in the village itself, without the need to travel to the surrounding area. Spa access in Schruns: included for hotel guests, available on request for day visitors
There are two ways to access the hotel’s water worlds. Overnight guests have access to both spa levels at no extra charge, from 12 noon on the day of arrival until two hours after check-out on the day of departure, with a bathrobe and spa bag provided in their room. Day visitors from Schruns and the surrounding area can access the facilities via the Day Spa, subject to the hotel’s occupancy; it is therefore advisable to enquire in advance of your preferred date – your chances are best during the week. For hotel guests, the pools are open from 8 am to 8 pm and the saunas from 10 am to 8 pm; for day visitors, the Day Spa is open from 10 am to 8 pm and has a minimum age requirement of 21, whilst in the hotel itself, the Maisäß Spa on the roof is reserved for adults aged 18 and over, and the copper bath is open to everyone. Treatment appointments are allocated by the spa reception to both hotel guests and day visitors alike. Spa design: the Schrunser surroundings reflected in materials and names
The spa derives its character from the immediate surroundings. The name Stölla refers to the stable as the warmest part of the Montafon house, and it is precisely this atmosphere that copper, dark wood and subdued lighting convey in the lower area; the copper bath literally glows in the evening. The Maisäß Spa above it evokes the mountain farmers’ intermediate space between the valley and the alpine pastures, with light-coloured surfaces, panoramic windows and the Gipflsee, whose water surface mirrors the sky. Wool throws in the relaxation rooms and treatments using sheep’s wool as a heat conductor carry the regional theme right through to the treatment couch. Anyone moving between the two levels experiences two different atmospheres within the same space: the sheltered centre and the unobstructed view over the rooftops of Schruns.
