Suite with private sauna in the Montafon: Sauna sessions at any time

Four categories at the AMRAI in Schruns feature a sauna directly within the suite. The Sauna Suite, spanning 58 to 96 square metres, is literally built around its deluxe sauna and features a fireplace alongside it; the Spa Suite combines the cabin with an onsen pool; the Family Suite offers a multi-bedroom layout; and Junior Suites optionally feature the sauna on the terrace. What they all have in common is freedom from dress codes, time slots and external infusion schedules. Which unit offers which sauna variant is detailed in the Rooms and Suites Overview with floor plans and facilities.

The Sauna Suite: a category built around your own cabin

The Sauna Suite takes this concept to its logical conclusion. Its deluxe sauna is not merely an afterthought in the floor plan, but the centrepiece, flanked by a fireplace that turns the break between two sessions into the main event; The reception delivers firewood and kindling upon request until 7 pm; from May to November, the stove remains unlit due to seasonal conditions. Spanning 58 to 96 square metres, the space also comprises a bedroom, living area and open-plan designer bathroom, complemented – depending on the unit – by a balcony or terrace with mountain views. Guests determine the steam ritual themselves, from the temperature to the scent; housekeeping provides a supply of towels. After the final course, there’s no changing room to head to – just your own sofa. Practical details on using the fireplace and other room facilities can be found on the Useful Information before you arrive. First-time bookers in this category will receive a brief introduction at check-in to the cabin’s operation and preheating times; after which the ritual becomes as second nature as at home, only with a mountain view outside the door and without the need for any cleaning afterwards.

Private saunas in everyday life: who stands to benefit from having their own cabin

Three groups of guests benefit most from having their own cabin. Couples gain a place to spend the evening after 8 pm, when the hotel’s communal sauna areas close, and can enjoy the sauna without an audience or concerns about clothing. Families use the private cabin as a way for children who are still too young for the communal areas to get started, as the Stöll Spa has a rule requiring children aged 14 and over to be accompanied, whilst in the suite, parents set the rules. And anyone who needs to follow their own routine for health or personal reasons – from a lower temperature to taking a break after five minutes – is free to do so behind their own door, independent of the infusion times. The communal areas are still included in the booking, so that the panoramic walk in the Maisö Spa in the afternoon and the private session in the evening can be combined. Both communal sauna areas, with their timings and age rules, are described at Spa & Pools in context. Gift vouchers from the hotel also make this option ideal as a present, for example as a sauna weekend for parents whose children are staying with their grandparents for the first time.
