High above the rooftops of Schruns lies the Gipflsee, the infinity pool on our rooftop terrace with unobstructed views of the Montafon mountain range. It forms the centrepiece of the Maisäß Spa, one of two wellness areas in the hotel. Further inside the building is the Stólla Spa, featuring a copper bath and sauna area. Our treatments draw on materials and themes from the valley, ranging from sheep’s wool to regional skincare ranges. The roof terrace, with its sunbathing areas, is one of the places where the character of the hotel is most clearly evident: alpine, tranquil and facing the valley.
Wellness in the Montafon between Gipflsee and Kupfrbad
Both of the AMRAI’s spa worlds bear names drawn from the Montafon cultural landscape. The Maisäß Spa on the roof alludes to the intermediate stages of mountain farming, whilst the Stólla Spa in the basement evokes the stable as a sheltered, warm place. This heritage shapes the choice of materials and the atmosphere of the areas. Upstairs, the view, light and the Gipflsee as an infinity pool dominate; downstairs, wood, copper and the more tranquil Kupfrbad. Adults who wish to remain completely undisturbed can relax in the Maisäß Spa, which is accessible only to those aged 18 and over. Families and teenagers will find their place at the Stólla Spa, where the sauna area can be used by those aged 14 and over when accompanied by an adult. Those who combine both worlds in a single day can switch between panoramic views and seclusion without leaving the building. Towels, bathrobes and spa bags from your room are valid in both areas, so you can move between the rooftop and the basement without having to go back via your room, and spend the whole afternoon in your bathrobe.

Treatments at the wellness hotel: a Montafon touch to massages and baths
Our range of treatments follows the same regional theme as the architecture. Massages, baths and beauty treatments utilise ingredients and rituals drawn from the valley, including treatments featuring sheep’s wool as a warming element. The spa reception is staffed daily from 11 am to 6 pm; staff are on hand to help you choose and coordinate appointments to fit your daily schedule, for example between a morning hike and dinner at the Stobas. For couples, treatments can be booked at the same time; for solo travellers, the relaxation rooms afterwards offer a place where the effects of the treatment can be savoured. There’s even time for this on the day of arrival, as the spa facilities are open from 12 noon – well before check-in at 3 pm.
